Enjoy our world-famous breakfasts overlooking the sunny garden.
A national monument and one of the oldest houses in Swellendam, the Hideaway Guest House boasts four very spacious and elegant individually decorated rooms in a lush, green garden setting with amazing views of the looming mountain behind. A large natural swimming pool (220 cubic metres) set amongst herbaceous borders, orchard and olive grove, a stream and rose walk with a beautiful pool pavilion and guest lounge are new additions to The Hideaway for guests to enjoy.

All rooms are air conditioned and furnished with fine handcrafted furniture, antiques and beautiful original paintings, prints and photographs.

Our internationally famous English style cooked breakfasts or extensive continental are personally prepared by Stephen and Jackie to order each morning and served with fresh home baked scones, muffins and breads, complemented by homemade preserves and jams, freshly squeezed fruit juices and plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurt and honey.

  • Recommended restaurants in Swellendam are within easy and safe walking distance.
  • Complimentary regional wine each evening with the hosts and fellow guests.
  • Complimentary lifts to and from restaurants (although most of Swellendam's finest restaurants are just a minute or two stroll from the Hideaway)
